Hello,

My name is Ann Murray and I am your School Board of Broward County Representative from District 1. This District encompasses Dania Beach, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Pembroke Park and West Park.

I ran for this position for one reason:  The Kids. Our school children are our most important asset. They represent the very fabric of our future society and it is important to provide them with the very best education possible.

I have spent 32 years working for the School District. I know the issues we face. While I was inside the District, I was never an “insider”. I was in a unique position to observe and learn.
This experience has been and will continue to be invaluable as I continue to work towards improving your faith and trust in the School Board of Broward County.

When I ran for office in 2008, it was to fill the remaining 2 years of Eleanor Sobel’s term after she resigned to run for State Senate. You, the voters, showed your overwhelming support for my candidacy by electing me by over a 9,000 vote margin.

I will again stand for election to this seat in November 2010 for a full four year term.

My enthusiasm, when I entered this campaign in 2008, has only grown. I look forward to continuing to work hard in the future for the benefit of our Broward County school children.
